PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a melt-spinning device for producing a polyethylene naphthalate fiber having excellent quality at a reduced production cost by remarkably extending the cleaning period of the surface of a spinneret, thereby improving the operation rate of the device and reducing the spinneret face cleaning work. SOLUTION: The melt-spinning device includes a spinneret 1 for spinning a polymer composed of a polyethylene naphthalate resin and a steam applying device 2 placed under the spinneret and radially blasting saturated steam or superheated steam toward the spinneret. The melt-spinning of a polyethylene naphthalate fiber is carried out by replacing the air contacting with the polymer extruding face under the spinneret with the steam by the method.
