Resetting of Security Mechanisms

The security mechanism of a product is realized in such a manner that the data, which is assigned thereto, cannot, in contrast to the remaining data of the product, be accessed from outside the product. The resetting is effected by deleting the data following an intervention from inside the product. The data D_SM and D_CM are preferably stored on different modules so that the security mechanism can be operated without loss of data by pulling the module on which the data are stored. As a result, transmission processes existing in a product provided in the form of a network element of a communications network are unaffected by the resetting.
