PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method allowing easy modification of the configuration of the thickness, strength, elasticity and the like, and enabling continuous production of a high-strength and inexpensive cylindrical filter with inexpensive equipment. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a cylindrical filter comprises the steps of winding at least one fibrous material 5 around a rotating fixture of a specified length in the form of a single layer or two or more layers and fixing the superposition allowance of the single layer or the two or more layers of the fibrous material 5 together by a joining technique, e.g. adhesion or thermal fusion so as to form cylindrical filters 13 and drawing out the resultant cylindrical filters 13 from one side of the rotating fixture 3.
