The method involves segmenting the text body in a series of subfields (T1 to TN) and providing one of the sub fields over graphical user interface units (B1,B2) for manual annotation. The manual annotation interface (AT1) is detected by a user interface unit. An automatic annotated subfield (ATn plus 1) is provided over a user interface unit for manual correction by a user. A corrected annotated subfield (CATn plus 1) is captured and added to the training data set and to extraction process. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for computer based protection of the manual annotation of characteristics in a text body (2) a computer program product.
