PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage system and a storage device for utilizing effectively a storage area, and simplifying constitution of a system. SOLUTION: In this storage system 100, the storage device 1 for storing data is connected with control parts 104A 104B for reading and writing the data, and the storage device 1 is constituted of first and second data input and output parts 101A, 101B used for inputting and outputting the data, a data storage part 103 for storing the data, and a first control part 102 for controlling read and write of the data. The first control part 102 stores range information indicating ranges allocated respectively to the first and second data input and output parts 101A, 101B, out of the storage area of the data storage part 103, in a range information storage part 102a, and rewrites the range information into predetermined range information, when a prescribed signal is input from the first and second data input and output parts 101A, 101B.
