PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throwaway type cutting tool capable of improving processing efficiency by enhancing lateral feed amount. SOLUTION: In two polygonal plate-shaped cutting edge tips 20, 30 fitted to the throwaway type cutting tool, first peripheral cutting edges 23A, 33A extended to the center side and tip side of a tool body 10 and second peripheral cutting edges 23B, 33B extended to the tool rear end side are formed in a pair of peripheral parts extended from corner cutting edges 22, 32 positioned on tip outer peripheral sides of the polygonal faces serving as cutting faces 21, 31, respectively. Face cutting edges 24, 34 are formed in peripheral parts extended from end parts positioned nearer to the center of the tool body 10 of the first peripheral cutting edges 23A, 33A toward the center side and rear end side of the tool body 10. Rotating trajectories around a tool axial line CL of the first peripheral cutting edges 23A, 33A, second peripheral cutting edges 23B, 33B and face cutting edges 24, 34 are overlapped with each other, and at least one of the face cutting edges 24, 34 is extended to a position reaching the tool axial line CL or a position in the vicinity of the tool axial line CL.
