<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data management system, a management server, a data management method and a program that can maintain area consistency in a contactless IC chip having two interrelated memory areas. <P>SOLUTION: The data management system comprises an information processing terminal having the contactless IC chip, and the management server. The information processing terminal comprises an internal memory in the IC chip having one or more service areas capable of retaining service data and management information and an index area for retaining link information for access to the service areas, and an update request part for sending an update request specifying the link information and service area that should be updated and the update process content.
