<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition coil capable of imparting a function as a magnetic path and a function for holding a conduction metal to a relay core and capable of miniaturization. <P>SOLUTION: The ignition coil 1 includes a primary coil 21 and a secondary coil 22 that have the same axial center and lie on inner and outer circumferences in superposition; a soft magnetic central core 23 disposed on the side of the inner circumferences of the primary coil 21 and the secondary coil 22; and a soft magnetic outer circumferential core 24 disposed on the side of the outer circumferences of the primary coil 21 and the secondary coil 22. The central core 23 is made of an iron-based material yielded by adding silicon to iron. There is provided a relay core 25 for forming a magnetic path between the central core 23 and the outer circumferential core 24 at axial opposite ends of the central core 23. The relay core 25 provided at an axial end of the central core 23 on the high tension side L1 thereof is made of a ferrite-based material having electrically insulating property and composed of iron oxide as a chief component. A conduction metal fitting 6 is held on the relay core 25 for making conductive a high voltage side winding end 222 of the secondary coil 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
