PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reflect the state of a user or a client program in information which is controlled by a presence server even if the user or the client program does not consciously renew the presence information and to prevent inconsistency in the relationship of the state which is noticed in place of the user or a terminal.

SOLUTION: A session controlling server is provided with a presence state renewing means which is triggered by a change in the state and informs the presence server of the changed state in its inside. On the other hand, the presence server is provided with a presence information controlling means which controls the consistency in the notified information of renewal.
