PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of a deviation caused by repetition of start and stop of an engine between an actual rotational position of a step motor and a rotational position detected based on an amount of operation. SOLUTION: An engine ECU executes a program including a step (S102) for turning on a start announcement signal upon engine start request (YES in S100), a step (S108) for disabling a starter upon receipt of a step motor drive allowance signal (YES in S106), and a step (S110) for driving the starter when no step motor drive allowance signal is received.
