PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeding unit and an image forming device each having a reduced size and cost. SOLUTION: A tray 4 is provided on the upper side of a sheet storage part 7 of the sheet feeding unit 3 which can be additionally provided on a device body 1A. When the sheet feeding unit 3 is mounted on the device body 1A, sheets Sa placed on the tray 4 mounted on the upper side of the sheet storage part 7 are fed by a body side sheet feed part 1C which feeds the sheets stored in a cassette mounted on the device body 1A.
