PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce color misalignment among a plurality of colors and nonuniform color, which result from changes of lines from one to another. SOLUTION: When a line is scanned by a scanning means, a correcting means changes a line read from a storage means in a predetermined order, thereby correcting a curve of a scanning line in the direction of main scanning of an image carrier. An interpolating means interpolates data about one or more pixels located before and after a changing point when a line read from the storage means changes. An interpolating section determining means sets an interpolating section, in which the interpolating means interpolates for the n-th one of the plurality of colors, to be a section from the changing point of the n-th color to the changing point of the m-th color closest to the former changing point.
