APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR RECOGNIZING THE EXISTENCE OF PAPER MEDIUM IN RECYCLE BOX

An apparatus and a method for recognizing the existence of a paper medium in a recycle box are provided to simple and accurately recognize whether or not paper medium exists in a recycling box for an automatic teller machine. A base plate is installed at an apparatus for recognizing the existence of a paper medium in a recycle box. A stacking plate(4) on which the paper medium is stacked is installed at the base plate to be lifted. A pressure plate which is installed at the base plate pressurizes the paper medium to make the paper medium be picked up stably if the paper medium exists in the staking plate. Unless the paper medium exists in the staking plate, the pressure plate is overlapped with the stacking plate by moving down by its weight. A position detection sensor(9) decides whether or not the paper medium exists in the stacking plate.
