The device has a holding profile (1) receiving an edge of a solar module. A mounting pad (7) is provided with a slab (8). Side plates (14) are extended away from the slab and connected with the holding profile. The holding profile and the mounting pad are made of one-piece sheet metal portion. The profile is formed at a bent section side (9) of the slab. A curved connection section (11) is arranged between the slab and each side plate. A three-dimensional (3D) curved transition portion (13) is arranged in a shock region between the connection section and the profile.
