NETWORK BASED METHOD OF MEASURING THE POSITION OF MOBILE STATION USING THE RATIO OF POWER STRENGTH OF SEVERAL BASE STATION AND THE SYSTEM THEREOF

A network-based method of measuring the position of a mobile station and a system thereof are provided to determine the position of a mobile station which a user wants to know by using the relative rate of signal strength of base stations which the mobile station collects. A location measuring server transmits a location measurement command to a corresponding mobile terminal. The mobile terminal which receives the location measurement command collects radiowave characteristic information of each base station and repeaters(S200). The mobile terminal requests the location measuring server to send location information of each base station after the collection(S204), and calculates coordinates of the terminal according to the relative ratio of signal strength between a serving node-B and a measurement node-B(S220).
