PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle communication device capable of securely communicating with a portable radio communication apparatus carried in a cabin without leaking an unnecessary radio wave out of the vehicle as much as possible. SOLUTION: When the position of a communication target apparatus 10 is input, the on-vehicle communication device 1 adds the value, obtained by multiplying the number of passengers not on a direct wave propagation path connecting the on-vehicle communication device and communication target apparatus by 0.5 dB, to initial transmission power and adds the value, obtained by multiplying the number of passengers on the direction wave propagation line by 2 dB, to the initial transmission power. Consequently, an attenuation fraction of transmission power resulting from the presence of the passengers can be corrected. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
