A data search device and a method therefor are provided to search information only corresponding to the sentence inputted freely by a user, and then display the searched information. A data search device(100) comprises the followings: a storage unit(110) in which data is stored; a key input unit(120) generating the first search command corresponding to the manipulation of a user; a keyword extractor(130) which analyzes a sentence inputted by the user based on the 5W1H rule to extract keywords for at least one of time information, place information, subject information, object language information, method information and reason information; and a controller(140) which searches data, including at least one of the extracted keywords, according to the first search command in the storage unit.
