PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device updating correction data while suppressing a decrease in read speed. SOLUTION: Through ADF mounted document read processing, shading correction data is updated effectively using the time up to when a front end of a top surface in a conveyance direction reaches a reading position after a reverse surface is read, and then while a decrease in a reading speed is suppressed, the shading correction data is suitably updated according to variation in light quantity.
