<p>Disclosed herein is the unit pixel of an image sensor and a method of driving the image sensor, which can increase the area of a sensing element. The unit pixel of the image sensor of the present invention includes a storage node (N32). A sensing element (31) generates charge using external energy, the sensing element being formed to be connected to the storage node and a data line (DL). A storage element (33) couples the storage node to a gate line (GL). In order to implement the unit pixel of an image sensor according to the present invention, only a sensing element, a storage element, a gate line, and a data line are necessarily required. Therefore, layout area is greatly reduced. In other words, the area of the sensing element can be increased for a given layout area of a unit pixel, thus facilitating the sensing of light.</p> |
