PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage container capable of effectively utilizing a space for installing a container. SOLUTION: This container with an internal hollow space includes a cylindrically-formed shell plate 2, an upper semispherical end plate 3 which is provided at one axial end of the shell plate 2, and lower semioval and spherical end plate 4 which is provided at the other axial end of the shell plate 2 and equipped with a major axis along a radial direction of the shell plate 2. Even if the shell plate 2 is provided, the overall height H of the storage container 1 can be set equal to the height of a spherical container having a diameter the same as that of the shell plate 2. Since the total of the capacity of a portion of the shell plate 2 and that of the lower end plate is larger than that of the semispherical end plate, the capacity of the storage container 1 can be set larger than that of the spherical container. Furthermore, since the capacity of the lower portion of the storage container 1 is larger than that of its upper portion, the stability of the container can be enhanced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
