摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrashort pulsed laser with high output of an ultrashort pulsed light beam of femtosecond using a columnar shaped Yb:YAG crystal as a solid-state laser medium. SOLUTION: An ultrashort pulsed laser has an oscillator 1 outputting an ultrashort pulsed light of femtosecond, a pulse stretcher 2 extending a pulse width of the ultrashort pulsed light, a regenerative amplifier 3 amplifying energy of the extended ultrashort pulsed light, and a pulse compressor 4 compressing a pulse width of the ultrashort pulsed light from the regenerative amplifier 3. The regenerative amplifier 3 has a resonator 15 having a columnar shaped Yb:YAG crystal rod 9, a semiconductor laser 12 arranged on a light axis of the rod 9 and which excites both end surfaces with excitation light, a pair of light collection lenses 11 arranged on the light axis of a solid-state laser medium so as to optically opposed to each other and which collects the excitation light to an end surface of the rod 9, and a pair of short wavelength transmission filters 10 transmitting the excitation light and reflecting the amplified ultrashort pulsed light.
