PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic transistor having high mobility and a large current on/off ratio and exhibiting excellent storage stability. SOLUTION: In the organic transistor having an organic semiconductor layer, at least one kind of compound represented by general formula (1) is contained in the organic semiconductor layer. In the formula, X<SB>1</SB>-X<SB>8</SB>are each independently a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a straight-chain, branched, or cyclic alkyl group, a straight-chain, branched, or cyclic alkoxy group, or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, and a ring A is a substituted or unsubstituted benzene ring, a substituted or unsubstituted thiophene ring, or a substituted or unsubstituted benzo[b]thiophene ring.
