<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly fix a liquid crystal display panel and a backlight to each other in a thin liquid crystal display device with a narrow picture frame. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes: the liquid crystal display panel having first and second substrates placed opposite to each other via a liquid crystal material, and polarizing plates respectively disposed on the surfaces of the first and the second substrates; and the backlight which is placed opposite to the polarizing plate disposed on the surface of the second substrate of the liquid crystal display panel, and which is directly adhered to an exposed section of the second substrate, arranged by forming the area of the polarizing plate so as to be less than the area of the second substrate, by using an adhesive member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
