PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that there is a possibility of being late for an actual climax scene when trying to determine the climax scene only by a sound. SOLUTION: This video/sound output device 100 outputs video/sound signals inputted through a video/sound input means 1, a video determination means 7 calculates the compressibility of video signals after being decoded in a video decoding means 3 and determines whether or not the video image is a scene with strenuous movement on the basis of the value, a user is notified by a screen message and an alarm sound by using a video output means 5 and a sound output means 6, and thus an important scene such as the climax scene is prevented from being overlooked.
