<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector 10 which can be made compact, reduced in pitch and height, and does not cause connection failure as any flux does not reach its contact part 22. <P>SOLUTION: A contact includes a first strip 19 disposed on its one end side and having the contact part 22 in contact with an object to be connected, a second strip 21 disposed on its other end side and having a connecting part 24 for connecting to a substrate and a coupling part 31 for coupling the other end of the first strip 19 to one end of the second strip 21 and also includes an extension part 44 formed by extending one end of the second strip 21. An insertion hole 38 in a housing 12 is widened on its one side from which the first strip 19 of the contact enters and is narrowed on its other side from which the second strip 21 of the contact including the extension part 44 enters to make the flux go up only toward the extension part 44 by capillarity when the connecting part 24 of the contact is soldered to the substrate.
