<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator device movable to a destination floor even if a visually handicapped rides in a car by oneself and suppressed in the lowering of elevator operating efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: This elevator device comprises a contact detection device 3 at an elevator hall 1 for detecting a car call when a visually handicapped touches it, an operation control means 25 for controlling the operation of the car 9, a destination floor registration button 13 in the car for registering a destination floor, and a notice means 15 in the car for automatically calling to the outside. When a car call is detected by the contact detection means, the operation control means moves the car to the elevator hall 1 and opens the door of the car, and keeps the door open until the destination floor registration button 15 is operated.
