PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a command issuing type storage medium controller capable of processing reliable data deletion at high speed. SOLUTION: This command issuing type storage medium controller 100 comprises a data transfer control part 101, a random number generation part 102, and a storage medium control part 103. The data transfer control part 101 controls transmission and reception of data. The data transfer control part 101 is equipped with a first register which sets up the number of transfer data, a data transfer starting position, etc., and a second register for issuing commands. The random number generation part 102 generates random numbers for writing in a storage medium 104. The random number generation part 102 is equipped with a register for controlling the operation of the random number generation part 102. With this register, a mode of operation whether usual writing is performed or the random numbers are written can be set up.
