PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide boric acid-supporting activated carbon for producing boron trichloride having a supporting ratio of 20 to 34% of boric acid on the activated carbon, which is useful for production of high-purity boron trichloride by a simple method, and its production method. SOLUTION: Boric acid-supporting activated carbon for producing boron trichloride having supporting ratio of 20 to 34% of boric acid on the activated carbon with is produced by adjusting a saturated boric acid aqueous solution at 95°C or higher and 98°C, then adding activated carbon to support boric acid, and next removing the water content to dry it.
