PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cut a sheet preventing formation of a tear on the cutting edge of the sheet due to a fixed blade and two movable blades in a sheet cutting device using them. SOLUTION: In the scissors type sheet cutting device 1, the first movable blade 4 is turned to cut in from the end 10a of the sheet 10 to a middle part in the width direction. A cut-in operation is finished just before the tip end 4b of the blade edge 4a of the first movable blade 4 cuts in the sheet 10, and after the first movable blade 4 is retracted, the second movable blade 5 is turned to cut in a remaining uncut part is cut by cutting in the sheet 10 from the other end 10b to completely cut the sheet 10 in the width direction. Since the tip end 4b of the blade edge 4a of the first movable blade 4 does not cut in to the side of the fixed blade 3 of the opposite side of the sheet 10, the snag shaped tear toward the different direction from the cutting in direction is not generated due to an excessive stress applied to the cut-in end. An adverse effect that the cut line is generated on the sheet piece after cutting with the tear as a starting point, and durability and preserving property are deteriorated, can be prevented.
