PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sewing machine automatically setting a correction value for correcting the feed of a feed dog. SOLUTION: When a pattern for setting a feed-correcting value is selected (S1), sewing starts (S2), and firstly, stitching a plain seam is performed by backward feeding (S3). When a first switch is turned on (S4: YES), stitching the plain seam is reversely performed by forward feeding (S5). When a second switch is turned on (S6: YES), a forward/backward stitch counter is initialized into "0" (S7). Then, a zigzag stitch is sewn while counting the number of stitches by backward feeding (S8, S9), and when the first switch is turned on (S10: YES), the zigzag stitch is reversely sewn by forward feeding while counting the number of stitches (S11, S12). When the second switch is turned on (S13: YES), sewing is finished (S14), and the correction value is calculated from the value of the forward/backward stitch counter and stored (S15).
