PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curable epoxy resin composition that is imparted with heat resistance, mechanical properties and a high refractive index while retaining transparency of an epoxy resin by introducing a metal alkoxide into the epoxy resin and uniformly compounding them, and a cured product thereof. SOLUTION: The curable epoxy resin composition comprises the epoxy resin (A) and a condensation reaction product (B) of (b-1) and (b-2) below. (b-1) A hydrolyzate-partial condensate of at least one metal alkoxide selected from the group consisting of titanium alkoxide, zirconium alkoxide and aluminum alkoxide. (b-2) A silane compound bearing both at least one epoxy group or epoxy group-reactive group and at least one alkoxy group bonded to a silicon atom in one molecule. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
