PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple cotton dust producing device having sufficient performance. SOLUTION: The cotton dust producing device comprises a cotton dust producing means 12 having a space 10 for producing cotton dust, a supply port 24 for supplying yarn 14 into the space 10, and a discharge port 22 for discharging produced cotton dust to the outside from the space 10; a yarn supply means 16 having delivery means 36, 38 for delivering continuous yarn from a yarn source to the supply port 24, and an air ejector 46 provided near the supply port 24, and supplying the yarn into the space; and a rotary cutter 20 rotated along a plane perpendicularly intersecting the supply direction of yarn supplied by the yarn supply means 16. The air ejector 46 is constituted to discharge the yarn 14 from a discharge port 52A, and the yarn 14 discharged from the discharge port 52A of the air ejector 46 is cut with the rotary cutter 20 to produce cotton dust.
