A laminator for protective film and a laminating method is provided to compress protective film on flat material without contaminating adhesive applied on one side of the protective film and perform compression by temporarily adhering prior to compressing protective film on flat material. A laminator for protective film and a laminating method comprises a table transferring and aligning flat material(10) on the top; a feed roller(200) supplying protective film(20) of which adhesive is coated on one side; the feed roller, contacting with the other side of the protective film, guiding the movement of the protective film; a suction plate operated to temporarily adhere the protective film to one end of the flat material surface; a cutter(500) cutting the protective film according to the length of the flat material; and a press roller(600) compressing the protective film on the surface of the flat material.
