Apparatus for playing a game comprises at least one group of identical flat multi-edged playing pieces 1 having a plurality of apicis formed by the provision of at least one convex side 2 and one concave side 4, each apex carrying a value taken from a predetermined or possible values. A game is played by combining the pieces to form a continuous network of juxtaposed playing pieces with the values of juxtaposed apices following a predetermined order. The pieces may be as shown or alternatively they may have two straight sides and a convex side and a concave side. The straight sides may be in opposite sides of the piece or they may form adjacent sides. Three-sided pieces may be formed with one straight side and two curved sides.
