#CMT# #/CMT# The resistor has a resistor element provided with a housing element, where the resistor element is section-wise mounted between two electrically insulating, thermally conductive insulation elements in the housing element. The insulation elements are section-wise abutted against the housing element, where the resistor element is a wire, which is section-wise abutted against one of the insulation elements. A surface contour of the wire is pressed and/or impressed into the insulation element. The housing element is an extruded profile, which has opening that is sealed with an elastic seal (15). #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method for producing an electrical power resistor module for an electrical circuit. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Power resistor e.g. protective resistor, braking resistor and discharging resistor, for transforming electric energy into heat in an electrical circuit. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The wire and an electric conductor are fixed to a clamp or soldering lug respectively, and are fixed to the carrier, thus improving the handling capability and the assembly of the module. The opening of the extruded profile forms a receiving channel in which the wire and the insulation elements are received, so that a solid housing body formed by the extruded profile is stable and easy to seal. The opening of the extruded profile is sealed with the elastic seal, thus avoiding the need for utilizing sealing and auxiliary materials such as silicone and cement, and hence achieving fast and inexpensive sealing of the module. The electric conductor is electrically connected to the wire, so that the electric conductor can be easily led out of a sealed interior of the module. The module avoids the need to contain magnesium oxide, thus eliminating time-consuming processing of the magnesium oxide, and hence reducing the material costs for the magnesium oxide.
