809,376. Electromagnets. VARIAN ASSOCIATES. June 11, 1956 [June 13, 1955], No. 18004/56. Class 35. [Also in Group XXXVI] Flux irregularities are counteracted in a gyromagnetic resonance analysis device by means of additional coils 6 in the working air-gap between electromagnetic poles 7. The coils are mutually bucking and are mounted on the pole faces with A.C. fed sweep coils 5. They are adjustably energized from a battery 22 and rheostat 23. A resistance bridge circuit is described by means of which the functions of coils 5 and 6 may be obtained with single coils. The coils may be prevented from producing fluxes at right-angles to their plane by making them of elongated rectangular form. Other coils may be disposed at various angles round the sample. |
