A ripcord for the optical cable is provided to improve a mechanical property by performing mixed twisted thread of rate of 50~99 weight% : 1~50 weight% through an aromatic polyamide filament. A ripcord(3) for the optical cable, a functional filament is consists of the rate of 50~99 weight% : 1~50 weight% by mixed twisted thread while excluding aromatic polyamide filament. A functional filament is one of polyethylene terephthalate, polyamide, rayon, polyethylene, and poly-benzonitrile filament. The strength of the ripcord for the optical cable is 50~80kgf. The total fineness of the ripcord for the optical cable is 3,000~5,000 denier.
