A liquid crystal display including an organic and inorganic alignment layer is provided to disperse the electric charge of static electricity effectively by being equipped with an organic and inorganic alignment layer having high conductivity, including an organic component and inorganic component, thereby improving the malfunction due to static electricity inflow and obtaining excellent picture quality. A liquid crystal display including organic and inorganic alignment layer comprises a first and a second substrates(401,402) which is separated and faced; a liquid crystal layer(403) interposed between the first and the second substrates; a first alignment layer(404) formed between the first substrate and liquid crystal layer; and a second alignment layer(405) formed between the second substrate and the liquid crystal layer. At least one of the first and the second alignment layer comprises a material of the formula ((SiOR)n(SiO2)m). In the chemical formula, R is C18-C20 alkyl group or cholesteryl and n and m are an integer.
