PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink supply device which can precisely detect a residual quantity of ink stored in an ink container by making an ink supply system a closed one so as to prevent quality change of the ink due to contact with the air and to enhance good printing and an ejection reliability at all times. SOLUTION: The ink supply device has a print head 6 in an ink-jet recorder which performs printing to a medium to be recorded by ejecting the ink from nozzles of the print head. The ink supply device in the ink-jet recorder comprises the ink container 1 which has a flexibility and is formed in the shape of a flat bag to keep a head constant, an ink supply passage 2 for sending the ink in the ink container from the ink container to the print head 6, a pressurization tank 3 equipped with an ink container accommodation chamber 4 which accommodates the ink container in a state to lay the ink container horizontally at a lower position of the print head, and a pressure control means 5 which controls a pressure in the pressurization tank.
