Method for casting metals involving:(a) insertion of a metal or metal alloy casting core of lower m.pt than the component to be cast and surrounded by a casing into a casting tool, (b) filling of the casting tool with a metal alloy, (c) removal of the metal casting core after solidification of the cast component either by thermal embrittlement or comminution.
