<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for processing a packet which allows electric power consumption thereof to be reduced in accordance with input traffic of packets. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus 100 for processing the packet comprises a packet processor 110 operating in accordance with a clock signal 132 having a predetermined frequency, to process a packet, and a clock-signal generator 120 producing the clock sinal 132 and transmitting the clock signal 132 to the packet processor 110, wherein the clock-signal generator 120 generates a clock signal 132 having a frequency defined in accordance with a time interval T at which packets are input into the apparatus 100. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
