PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a near-infrared absorbing film which contains a near-infrared absorbing dye in a layer (adhesive layer) disposed by applying an adhesive, excels in heat resistance and wet heat resistance, and retains optical characteristics such as good near-infrared absorption capacity. SOLUTION: The near-infrared absorbing film is obtained by disposing, on one surface of a transparent substrate, a layer (adhesive layer) formed of an adhesive containing a near-infrared absorbing dye and a copolymer using a fluorinated alkyl ester of (meth)acrylic acid as an essential constituent monomer. This film excels in heat resistance and wet heat resistance, and when it is stacked with other functional films, the resulting stack is very useful as an optical filter for PDP.
