The invention relates to an iterative method for the computer-assisted detection of molecules having similarities in relation to one or more reference molecules. According to said method, iteration allows several pairs from a reference structure and a comparison structure to be superimposed in an analogue manner and a measurement of quality for each of said pairs is determined or estimated. According to predetermined criterion, the value of the measurement of quality for a determined pair is stored together with the corresponding superposition arrangement as a valid optimal value of the measurement of quality or one of the valid optimal values of the measurement of quality.
