A method and a system for providing a service for downloading local address book based on a location are provided to store a local address list in a mobile network and prevent the important address list from being lost by downloading the local address list to the mobile terminal. A mobile terminal(110) acquires current location information. The local address list of area corresponding to acquired location information is searched. The local address lock of the region corresponding to the obtained location information is searched. The searched local address list is downloaded and stored to the mobile terminal. Storage identifying information of the downloaded local address data(170) is received the mobile terminal. The server storage identifying information of local address data is corresponded to the received first identification information and recorded on a mapping table. |
