GARRETT (HOLDINGS) Ltd 19 April 1971 [16 Feb 1970] 7296/70 Heading F2V [Also in Division G3] A pressure regulator has a closure member 10 actuated by a differential piston 17 on which acts the pressure in annular chamber 18 and the pressure in chamber 22. Upstream pressure is communicated to chamber 18 via adjustable pressure reducing valve 13 and is communicated to chamber 22 via valve 13, restriction 20 and solenoid valve 21 which normally closes vent 31. The pressure communicated to chamber 22 is regulated by vent valve 38 which is responsive to downstream pressure so that the closure member 10 is moved in response to downstream pressure to maintain the latter constant. The regulator is closed by actuation of valve 21 to vent chamber 22. Butterfly and poppet valves may be similarly actuated. |
