An imaging system is formed by imaging devices between which an image is transmitted and received by radio. Each of the imaging devices includes: a light emission element (24) and a light reception element (26) which transmit and receive an image; and a monitor (40) which displays authentication information used by an imaging device of the image transmission side to authenticate an imaging device of the image transmission side. Furthermore, each of the imaging devices includes: a lens unit (14) and an imaging element (70) for imaging the authentication information displayed on the monitor of the imaging device of the image reception side; an information processing unit (80B) which uses the aforementioned imaged authentication information to process the image to be transmitted to the imaging device of the image reception side; and a main control unit (80) which restores an original image from the image transmitted from the imaging device of the image transmission side.
