<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode suitable for increasing electromotive force in a fuel cell, particularly in a single chamber solid oxide fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The electrode has ΔEh represented by formula (1) of -10 to 100 mV. ΔEh=E<SB>0</SB>-E<SB>3</SB>(1) [Wherein, E<SB>0</SB>is electrode potential showing when gas (only oxidative gas) having a hydrogen concentration of 0% is brought into contact with the electrode at room temperature, and E<SB>3</SB>is electrode potential showing when mixture gas (hydrogen gas and oxidative gas) having a hydrogen concentration of 3 vol.% is brought into contact with the electrode at room temperature]. An electrode catalyst composition has a trivalent manganese-containing compound. The electrode has the electrode catalyst composition. The solid oxide fuel cell has the electrode. The single chamber solid oxide fuel cell has the electrode as a cathode and has an anode.
