<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound affording a photoelectric transducer having high photoelectric transducing efficiency in a wide region of from a visible light region to a longer wavelength region and a production method thereof; a dye for a photoelectric transducer comprising the compound; and a photoelectric transducer comprising the dye and a photoelectrochemical battery comprising the transducer. <P>SOLUTION: This compound is a complex compound obtained by causing a bis(2,2'-bipyridyl) derivative to coordinate to a metal atom and examples thereof include cis-bis(isothiocyanate)bis(2,2'-bipyridyl-4,4'-dicarboxylate)-ruthenium(II)bis-tetrabutyl ammonium. These complex compounds are a compound affording a photoelectric transducer having high photoelectric transducing efficiency in from a visible light region to a longer wavelength region. Particularly, these complex compounds are extremely excellent in the photoelectric transducing efficiency in a long wavelength region of 750 nm or more. Further, these complex compounds are easily produced and can be preferably used in producing a photoelectric transducer for a photoelectrochemical battery. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
