PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for decomposing a hardly decomposable harmful material which can render a hardly decomposable harmful material harmless with no limitation in the properties of the hardly decomposable harmful material in an efficient and low-cost manner. SOLUTION: This method is a method for decomposing a hardly decomposable harmful material with a peroxide, wherein the peroxide is dividedly added to water containing the hardly decomposable harmful material at a predetermined addition amount per unit time.
