Compositions comprising novel alkylene oxide-extended alkoxylates of a li near or branched 1,3-dialkyloxy-2-propanol are disclosed. In these compositi ons the alkoxylates may offer a variety of desirable properties, including b ut not limited to service in formulations as surfactants, detergents, wettin g agents, defoam/low foam agents, stabilizers, and the like. The composition s may include products such as detergents, pharmaceuticals, paints and coati ngs, plastics, oilfield chemicals, agricultural agents, and the like.
